When families come into town, particularly with young children, one of the first things they ask us is for advice regarding good places to take young children. Some of our favorite places to send them are Colorado museums and galleries in and around Denver. Our charming inn is located just 15 minutes from downtown, so an abundance of options awaits those with an interest in or an eye for art, history, or science.

Denver’s Museum of Nature and Science is a popular choice for those with kids in tow, as well as the Children’s Museum of Denver and Ocean Journey, Colorado’s biggest aquarium exhibit. Moms and Dads may prefer to go it alone when you visit the Denver Art Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Enjoy a peaceful day with your loved one as you gaze upon some of the masterpieces of the world.

But you don’t have to drive all of the way into Denver to have a fun and educational day when you stay with us. Golden itself is home to one of the more popular museums around, the Colorado Railroad Museum. Learn about the history of the railroads and gaze upon what was once the fastest and most efficient means of long distance transportation in the country. Also within a short distance are the Buffalo Bill Grave and Museum, the Astor House Museum, Clear Creek History Park, the Golden Pioneer Museum, the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, and the Spirits in the Wind Art Gallery.
